Brocante style ....

Brocante, French for second hand, to me it means classic aged pieces, ragged, torn and worn in a shabby beautiful way, with loads of life left.

At Shabby Road I will be offering for sale my hand made and upcycled 'brocante' I use mainly upcycled vintage worn materials when I can, making a bit more history from a history of an item unknown. I will be offering vintage home decor as well that is worthy of a new home.

I have a few things I love, old photos are my favourite things, I sometimes find tin types and sell as sets, a tid bit about them:
Tintypes were commonly produced in what is called "CDV-size", i.e. the size of a carte-de-visite, or roughly 2.5 x 4 inches (6 x 10 cm). Sometimes original owners would have cut them to keep in their wallets so they may be a tad smaller than originally made.

I also make art pieces from classic old black and white photos and post cards, this is something I am going to build on in 2020, so watch out for these. (I'll be doing more collages, books and I might try some photo garlands, I'll see if I can master this first though;)
I also adore plaid shirts, so these I am concentrating on building a collection as well in 2020 and beyond.
